Football Information

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

It's fun! Really! Even if you don't like football it's a good time. The first football game of the season is this Friday, September 4. Band members are on call at 5:00 pm at the band room. Parents (roadies) who want to help should arrive around 5:45. The band departs around 6:30. and needs our assistance with equipment transportation, traffic control, and general support. Two large vehicles may be needed, preferably pick-up trucks or large SUV's, to transport some of the band's equipment such as drum sets, amplifiers, and other extra instruments. Equipment needs vary depending on the pieces to be performed. This Friday the opener of the field show will be performed and the drum major's platform needs to be transported. Vehicles follow the band. The rest of the parents walk with the band along West Street then along the service road by the FFA animal pens and on to the stadium. The band has it's own set of bleachers which are set up on the track in front of the main stadium bleachers. The band is given a break during the game and the kids are allowed to visit the snack bar so they may want to bring a little cash. Sometimes when we have an early call for a Saturday competition, the band leaves at half-time so they can go home and get needed rest.
